The New Westminster Secondary School has been running a mushroom manure sale for over 20 years. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the annual sale was to be postponed but Jordan Beattie of Artisan called and kept it alive, donating manure and making arrangements to bag it and deliver it with 100% profits going to the athletic department of the school. In the me-first society we live in today (especially prevalent during this pandemic), we need more humans like Jordan Beattie.

Stephen and Artisan have been first-rate partners with the annual spring Soil & Manure sale for 15 years. Our one-day event has raised over $25,000 for Chown in the last five years alone. We look forward to many more Manure Sales with Artisan in the future.

Artisan has been delivering a unique blend of composted vegetable soil to the school gardens we support at Forest Grove Elementary, Windsor Elementary and Lochdale Community School. Our students love the soil delivery event so much, some of our alumni students return from high school to participate in this event. Because of Artisan's dedication to sourcing the best materials for their soil, the results over the years have been strong resilient healthy plants.
